Yesterday I reached the Adriatic Sea; today I walked beside it practically all day!
We met outside the Basilica of San Nicola, where several new walkers joined the group - new to me, at least, though many of them had walked stages with the group further north, in France, Valle d'Aosta or Piedmont. All together we left behind the city of Bari, walking along the waterfront, past a fishing harbour and a series of fishmongers.

At Torre a Mare we left the waterfront; after walking along a service road beside the highway for a way, we took a dirt road through fields and vineyards to the outskirts of Mola di Bari, our destination for the evening. Arriving in the town centre in a light rain, we were welcomed by the town authorities with a buffet of sandwiches, olives and mini-panzerotti.
