Woke up to the pitter-patter of rain on the roof of the yurta. The fire in the woodstove had gone out and it was quite chilly, so it took a fair bit of willpower to get out from under the blankets and cross the lawn in the rain to go get washed in the house. But Méteo France promised it would stop raining at eight o'clock, so we breakfasted on Nescafé and rather solid baguettes that had been in our backpacks for a few days and prepared to set off. By ten past eight the rain had indeed stopped, but we donned our raingear just in case it started again before setting off. It was only a short way through the fields to get back onto the GR653, which, for the rest of the day, took us along the winding Rigole, the stream created in the 17th century to supply the Canal du Midi with water. We broke the monotony by leaving the path to cut down to Labastide d'Anjou and from there to Segalà, where we finally came to the Canal du Midi! Tonight we stop here, in a small house with a view over the canal.
