Walked 18 km into León and took over a small hostel for the group of eight people I walked into town with for two nights.
First rest day since Pamplona!

After visiting the Cathedral again in the morning as a tourist, rather than during Mass, I went on to San Isidoro, a former monastery complex. Photography was not permitted inside, but I saw the Holy Grail! (Another one) As well as the beautiful frescoes representing the months of the year.

León dates back to Roman times, and vestiges of the ancient city walls can still be seen.

After lunch and an afternoon nap - after all, this is supposed to be a rest day - I went to see a Gaudí building just around the corner from the hostel, and then met up with my new English friend Diane for dinner.
