A day of walking under a cloudy sky along red dirt tracks, wet with last night's rain, among the vineyards of Rioja.
Stopped in Najera for a breakfast of tortilla and café con leche.
Many people had spent the night in Najera and joined the flow of pilgrims here. The day was uneventful until we reached our destination, Santo Domingo de la Calzada, and were assigned bunks in a giant hostel with 217 beds! Anonymous but super well-organised, a bit of a warren to find your way around in, noisy until the obligatory lights-out time of ten pm, a bit late for some pilgrims!
